Lite-On Technology (TW 2301) today reported December consolidated revenue of NT$20.44 billion with increases of 2% M-o-M and 1% Y-o-Y. Core businesses showed steady consecutive growth, resulting from stable end-market demand. Lite-On’s consolidated revenue for the entire year of 2014 reached NT$230.66 billion, up 8% Y-o-Y.
The Optoelectronics business segment contributed a 27% share of Lite-On’s overall revenue and achieved a revenue increase of nearly 5% Y-o-Y in December. Thanks to growing demand for LED street and vehicle lighting, coupled with consumer and mobiles applications, LED components and lighting products presented a yearly growth of around 50%.
The Information Technologies business segment accounted for 49% of sales with a revenue growth of 8% Y-o-Y of which power supplies posted a yearly growth of 10%, hitting a monthly sales record high resulting from increases in global demand for server power management systems in cloud computing applications, and mobiles devices. Meanwhile, thanks to ongoing market share gains as well as the delivery growth of detachable keyboards, HIS (Human Input Solutions - PC keyboards and peripherals) enjoyed a revenue growth of nearly 30% Y-o-Y; multi-function peripherals presented a revenue expansion of over 10% Y-o-Y driven by the delivery growth of its laser models.
Storage accounted for 15% of Lite-On’s total revenue, mainly due to the impact of seasonal slow shipments of game console applications.
