Lite-On Technology Corporation has won a Corporate Citizenship Award from Common Wealth Magazine for the ninth year in a row. This recognition is attributable to Lite-On’s successes in putting active CSR programs into practice: setting environmental management goals and meeting the targets; the energy-saving product lines including power management and LED lighting has accounted for more than 30% of overall revenue; cooperating with suppliers in widely use of raw materials which can be recovered; developing innovative products on social equality, skyla® HB1 clinical chemistry analyzer to upgrade rural health care quality.
     While simultaneously concentrating on sales and profits as engines of growth, Lite-On's CSER strategy takes a business-driven approach that incorporates "CSER" principles as part of the company's "values" and "corporate culture," aligning "corporate visions, culture and core competitiveness" with "social, environmental changes and stakeholders' demands" in parallel. In 2014, Lite-On’s greenhouse gas emission intensity was 7.6% and 7.7% lower than the levels in 2013 and 2011, the base year, respectively. The intensity of water consumption was 11.2% lesser than the measure in 2013 and 31.3% lesser than the measure in 2011 (the base year). All products supplied by Lite-On have been designed in accordance with WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) standards, which require at least 75% of materials to be recovered, while the energy-saving product lines including power management and LED lighting have accounted for more than 30% of overall revenue. Moreover, Lite-On has successfully launched the nation's first proprietary clinical chemistry analyzer, skyla®HB1, an innovative product on social equality and meeting the strong demands from the global medical device popularization to upgrade rural health care quality in small health centers.
     Making every effort to be a good corporate citizen, as of 2015, Lite-On has been continuously selected as a leading member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for four consecutive years as the Industry Leader in the Computers & Peripherals and Office Electronics sector, as well as awarded a total of eight CSR Awards from Global Views Magazine in 10 years since 2005. Meanwhile, Lite-On was ranked A++, the highest grade, by Securities and Futures Institute in its 12th Information Disclosure evalsuation, as well as included in the composition of 2015 Constituent MSCI Global Sustainability Indexes.
