Lite-On Technology (TW 2301) is pleased to announce that it has been ranked number 1 in Taiwan as well as number 3 in Asia, in light of the Channel NewsAsia Sustainability Ranking 2016. The Channel NewsAsia Sustainability Ranking is the first of its kind in Asia. The ranking identifies leading firms in corporate sustainability across 11 key Asian economies, including Taiwan, China, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, South Korea and Thailand. The index lists the Top 100 companies with the highest sustainability performance. It also highlights the overall Top 20 companies and the Top 3 businesses per economy.
     Lite-On is honored for the recognition of its ability to identify and manage related risks in its supply chain, and focusing on issues such as workers' welfare, environmental protection, health and safety. The company has developed a set of supplier principles based on Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) Code of Conduct that demands its suppliers fulfill social responsibilities and also conducts periodic audits to ensure compliance. If a supplier is found to have significant or potential negative impacts on human rights and labor practices, the company will disqualify this supplier. All in all, Lite-On expects to achieve the social and environmental responsibility objectives of Lite-On and its supplier ecosystems.
     Making every effort to be a global corporate citizen, Lite-On has been selected as a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for six consecutive years, and included in the composition of MSCI Global Sustainability Indexes and named one of the Leading Companies in Climate Disclosure Leadership (CDLI) Index for two consecutive years; domestically, Lite-On has been awarded Corporate Citizenship Award from Common Wealth Magazine for the tenth year in a row, Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Award for 5 consecutive years, and a total of eight CSR Awards from Global Views Magazine, and ranked the Top 5% listed companies of the Corporate Governance evalsuation by Taiwan Stock Exchange.
