Lite-On Technology (TW 2301) is pleased to announce that it has won the 2013 Paragon Prize in the Education Sector CSR Awards from Global Views Magazine for its outstanding results in the “Transformation of Xinyi Community College” program.
     Lite-On has been acknowledged for two consecutive years with the Paragon Prize in the Education Sector with different programs, since 2012. As the only community college run by a corporate foundation, Lite-On’s efforts in the sustainability of Xinyi Community College, such as the uniqueness of running the college, successful implementation of a corporate management system, and the turnaround of financial performance, were fully recognized by the awards committee.
     Making every effort to be a good corporate citizen, while simultaneously concentrating on sales and profits as engines of growth, Lite-On has succeeded in putting active CSR programs into practice. In 2012, Lite-On Tech continued to be selected as a leading member of the 2012/13 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), listed in both DJSI-World and DJSI-Asia Pacific. Not only was Lite-On the only Taiwanese company selected in the Electronic Component and Equipment (ELQ) sector, but it was also ranked first, the Industry Leader among all companies named in the sector. For social involvement, Lite-On focuses on cultivation of human resources, helping disadvantaged groups, and social care; the Lite-On Cultural Foundation was founded over 20 years ago, and has been running the first Community Volunteer Team since 1998. Meanwhile since 2001, more than NT$100 million has been invested in the annual “Lite-On Award”, the largest industrial design competition for Chinese worldwide, which has nourished over 20 thousand Chinese Industrial Designers so far.
